The Savannah Holly is a beautiful evergreen holly this is grown as a large shrub or small tree with a narrow open pyramidal to columnar form. The Savannah Holly is often grown with a central trunk and small lateral branches which are smooth and light to medium gray in color. The Savannah Holly can adapt to both sandy and clay soils with a moderate growth rate. The Savannah Holly has shiny medium-green leaves with multiple soft spines and they are accented in the fall with heavy clusters of bright red berries which persist throughout the fall and winter. The berries on a Savannah Holly are very attractive to wildlife, serving as an excellent food source.
